Why I Started Ironside
Ironside exists to set a higher standard.
Ironside was created from both professional experience and personal perspective.
People lead busy lives. Work, family, travel, and responsibilities make it difficult to consistently prioritize appointments. I’ve experienced that firsthand. When I was working a traditional 9–5 schedule, even I struggled to get myself to appointments. That experience shaped how Ironside operates today—offering scheduling outside typical clinic hours and meeting people where they are.
Before starting Ironside, I worked in a traditional insurance-based clinic. Over time, I became frustrated with the structure of that system. Double booking patients, handing people off to technicians, and working within strict insurance and time constraints made it difficult to provide the level of attention I believe people deserve. Good care can still happen in those environments, and many clinicians do great work within them. It simply isn’t the way I prefer to practice or share my knowledge
Another limitation I saw repeatedly was how insurance defines recovery. Care is often treated as something with a clear stopping point. Once a patient is considered “functional,” coverage can end. But recovery and performance rarely work that way. Many people still have meaningful goals they want to reach—whether that’s returning to sport, building strength, improving mobility, or simply feeling more confident in their body. Care should be able to continue along that continuum.
Performance looks different for everyone. For one person it might mean competing at a high level. For another it might mean staying active with family, maintaining independence, or feeling strong in day-to-day life. My experience has been helping people reach those goals—whatever those fitness goals look like for them.
There is also a personal reason behind Ironside. This is the type of care I would want for myself. Direct communication with the professional I’m working with. Flexible scheduling. Online programming when needed. One-on-one attention with the person I’m actually scheduled to see. And the ability to build a long-term relationship with someone who understands my goals, my history, and the variables that matter to me.
Ironside was created to provide that kind of care.
