COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Ironside is a cash-based physical therapy practice. This allows for longer one-on-one sessions, individualized care, and a focus on outcomes rather than insurance-driven visit limits. We do not bill insurance directly.
While we do not bill your insurance directly, you may still be eligible for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits through your insurance plan.
We will provide a superbill upon request—a detailed receipt that includes all necessary codes and information required to file a claim with your insurance provider.
What You’ll Need to Do:
Contact your insurance provider and ask about your out-of-network benefits for outpatient physical therapy.
Submit the superbill we provide to your insurer for possible reimbursement.
We also accept HSA and FSA cards, which can be used to pay for your sessions directly.
What About Medicare?
We are not enrolled with Medicare and therefore cannot legally accept out-of-pocket payment for services that are normally covered by Medicare. However, if you are a Medicare beneficiary, you may still receive wellness or preventative services with us, such as injury prevention training or performance optimization—but these services are not reimbursable under Medicare.
By removing the limitations imposed by insurance companies, we are able to provide the level of care you deserve: individualized, high-quality, and truly patient-focused.
No referral is required. North Carolina allows direct access to physical therapy, meaning you can begin care without first seeing a physician.
